It’s amazing . . . in just 10 hours after leaving my home of birth to my home of choice, Portugal. It took me, my and my friends Domen, Ana, Samir and Lea 4 different types of transportation, but still . . . The path trough half the Europe was swift indeed.
Was kind of a strange feeling being here for the first and the second day. You are physically present in this unconditionally free place, with the mind still wandering back to that place of mind slavery, work and countless obligations.
Still, the surfing helps to speed up this process of freeing the mind as well, and man did we need the swell that hit the Portuguese coast on Friday and Saturday. Just a relaxing, fun and pleasant swell. A bad meter breaking waves, perfect for the beginning. We’ve met really a lot of nice people already on the beach.
For the evening, we planed the cliff picnic to relax the mind completley and ret the body swiftly from surfing. There was an amazing sight from cliffs of sun sinking in the great waving ocean. With unbelievably powerful sound of the waves smashing in the rocks.
On saturday the waves were a bit smaller, but we had a whole day of offshore wind, so the surfing session was long, fun, relaxing and re-energizing. Still waving inside, the day turned into to the night and we had a crazy surfing party.
The Sunday that followed was a really funny day. We had a lot of plans for the forecasted rainy day, which was completely sunny in the end. We were all the time slowly moving aroud, but not really doing anything. It’s a funny day, when you come home at 8 in the morning for the night of party 😉

A view to Supertubos – Martin’s Lodge, Peniche, Portugal
In the evening we arranged the hostel for Domen, Ana and Kaja. Kaja is some girl I’ve just met. But man, is she a surfer 😉 A soul of a surfer could not be expressed outwardly in a more clear way. We called my friend Pedro, who just opened a Surf hostel with his wife Felipa, called Martins’s Lodge (Martin is their baby son). Truly pleasant people, who did a really great work opening the hostel. The location is just perfect, between two major surf beaches in Peniche. Baleal and Supertubos are both in walking distance from the hostel. A really nice place . . .
And today is another great day, to wake up in the sunny sight of the ocean in the days first light. Cheking the waves to bring absolute delight.
Aloha
